I saw the doctor that can do the colonoscopy today. I had to convince the secretary that I needed a colonoscopy. She asked me multiple times why, and all I could say was that my general practitioner had recommended this during a yearly physical. I insisted on getting the appointment, since I have an insurance that will pay, and the doctor told me to go get it, and boy, am I glad I did.
Another interesting question the secretary kept asking was: Is this through Obama Care? (no), Is this through Covered California? (no), Are you absolutely sure? Yes, I am sure, this is through my company’s insurance. After this she gave in and agreed to set me up.
As mentioned, I saw the doctor this morning. I have to admit that I thought that the colonoscopy would get done at this appointment, but of course that was not the case. Actually, this was a prep consultation. The doctor asked me for the reason, and agreed right away that my age justified the colonoscopy and then went on telling me how to prep for it. (read more about the prep here). At this consultation, I asked the secretary for an appointment for the actual colonoscopy right away, and luckily there was an available appointment two days later.
